Week 38

Hey,

Me looking dainty beside a shipwreck
Pretty much back to a full training session this week other than one or two drills and by God was I sore the next day. I played in the training match and didn't feel too bad at all, a bit wary of tackling but overall pretty good and really enjoyed it. I woke up the next day and I was incredibly stiff and sore, like everywhere and my poor right calf was cramping, I was in a bad way haha!

I was worried about training on Friday because even by then my ability to move wasn't exceptional haha so I did the warm up and then went in to the physio to be sure I was grand! She was brilliant and just reminded how it's normal with the increase in intensity and how important recovery is in general but when returning from an injury. She said to continue to foam roll, use the blackballer and do mobility to stay/get flexible!

Knee has been pretty ok overall this week but it was quite sore after cycling and walking in Inis Oírr which I was very surprised with! I was thinking it could have been from the travelling over the weekend also, Doonbeg Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and then onto Doolin to get the boat to Inis Oírr and Waterford on Saturday.

On a more positive note I reached my fastest speed since getting injured today :).

Plan for this week is:
Monday: Recovery cycle
Tuesday: Gym (Hamstrings) and running
Wednesday: Gym and training
Thursday: Gym and running
Friday: Training
Saturday: Gym
Sunday: Rest

I'm coming up on 9 months now and next week will be pretty much my last post!

Naomi
